The Prophet ﷺ said, "There are three whom Allah has taken upon Himself to help: the one who strives in the path of Allah, the one who marries seeking chastity, and the slave under a contract of manumission who intends to fulfill his payment."
حدثنا يحيى عن ابن عجلان حدثني سعيد بن أبي سعيد
عن النبي ﷺ قال ثلاث كلهم حق على الله عونه المجاهد في سبيل الله والناكح المستعفف والمكاتب يريد الأداء
Its isnad is sahih, and it will come again with this same isnad at 9629. Hakim also related it in Al-Mustadrak 2:160–161, 217, by way of Musaddad, from Yahya bin Saeed, with this isnad. He said in both places, "This is a sahih hadith meeting the criteria of Muslim, though the two of them did not include it." Dhahabi agreed with him.Tirmidhi related it at 3:15, and Nasai at 2:70, both by way of Layth bin Saad, from Muhammad bin Ajlan, with it. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan hadith." Nasai also related it at 2:56, by way of Abdullah bin Mubarak, from Ibn Ajlan. Ibn Majah related it at 2518, by way of Abu Khalid Ahmar, from Ibn Ajlan.Munziri mentioned it in Al-Targheeb 3:68, attributing it to Tirmidhi, and quoted him as saying, "A hasan sahih hadith." He also attributed it to Ibn Hibban in his Sahih, and to Hakim.Regarding the word "awnahu," in H it appears as "awn" without the ha, which is a clear printing error, and we have corrected it based on K and M.
