The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am to you like a father teaching you. When one of you goes to relieve himself, do not face the qiblah or turn your back to it, and do not clean yourself with your right hand."He used to instruct the use of three stones and forbade using dung or decayed bones.
Its isnad is sahih. It has already appeared in similar form at 7362, through the narration of Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Ibn Ajlan. But there, the instruction about three stones was not mentioned, that is, regarding cleaning oneself after relieving oneself. We noted there that Nasai narrated it at 1:16, by way of Yahya bin Saeed, and referred to the narrations of Abu Dawud 8, Ibn Majah 313, and Ibn Hibban 2:611 [from the manuscript of Al-Ihsan]. In all these narrations there is the addition of the instruction about three stones, as here. See also 7220.
