Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it (62) from Ibn Madini, and Muslim (1:126) from Ibn Abu Shayba, Amr Naqid, and Zuhayr bin Harb, all four from Sufyan, who is Ibn Uyayna. Muslim then related it after that through other chains of transmission.The addition of [Sufyan] comes from (k), and it is necessary in the isnad. But it was mistakenly dropped by some of the early copyists, and for that reason it is not mentioned in (h) or (m). This makes the apparent isnad in both of them suggest that Ahmad himself is the one saying "I heard Zuhri," which is an impossible and false statement that Ahmad would never make.Tasfeeh ends with an undotted ha. Ibn Athir said, Tasfeeh and tasfeeq are the same thing, and it comes from striking the palm of one hand against the palm of the other.That is, if the imam makes a mistake, the one following him alerts him to it. If the one alerting is a man, he says, "Subhan Allah," and if it is a woman, she claps her palm against her palm instead of speaking.Let the foolish and ignorant advocates of women in our time take note, the atheists and the reckless ignorant ones who claim knowledge of what they do not know, those who have brought the Muslim woman out of her seclusion into the streets, universities, factories, and places of amusement, those who want to corrupt the lofty Islamic character and who fabricate lies against Allah and His Messenger by claiming that Islam made woman equal to man and did not restrict her from mixing with men. Let them see how Allah and His Messenger safeguarded the Muslim woman from letting her voice be heard even in prayer. Yet these people feel no shame! May Allah destroy them, how deluded they are!The wording in the narration of the two Shaykhs, where we noted it, is tasfeeq instead of tasfeeh.
