The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah will say on the Day of Resurrection, "Where are those who loved one another for the sake of My majesty? Today I shall shade them in My shade, on a day when there is no shade but Mine."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman bin Mamar, Abu Tawala, has already had his reliability established at 1442, and we add here that Ibn Abu Hatim gave his biography in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 2/2 94-95, and his reliability was reported from Ahmad bin Hanbal and Yahya bin Main. Here in kh it appears as [Abdul-Rahman], with [Abdullah bin] dropped from it, and the correction comes from m, and from the Muwatta and the biographical reference works. As for his statement, Rawh said, Ibn Mamar, he means that the narration of Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi from Malik does not trace Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman's lineage back to his grandfather Mamar, while the narration of Rawh bin Ubada from Malik does trace his lineage back to his grandfather, saying, Ibn Mamar. This is also established in the Muwatta.Saeed bin Yasar, Abu Hubab, a well-known reliable successor, his biography has already been given at 2438, and we add here that Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 2/1 476, as did Ibn Abu Hatim in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 2/1 72, and Ibn Saad in al-Tabaqat 5:209-210.As for his statement, Rawh said, Abu Hubab, he means that Rawh mentioned Saeed bin Yasar's kunya in his narration from Malik, and it is also established in the Muwatta. Here in kh it appears as Ibn al-Hubab, which is an error we have corrected from k, m, the Muwatta, and other sources. No one in Saeed's biography mentioned his grandfather's name, rather they mentioned only his kunya. Al-Hubab is spelled with a dammah on the ha, a light ba, then another ba after the alif. The hadith appears in the Muwatta, p. 952. Muslim related it, 2:280, from Qutayba bin Saeed, from Malik, and the addition of "on the Day of Judgment" in the narration of Rawh bin Ubada is established both in the Muwatta and in Sahih Muslim. His wording, "for My glory" (bi-jalali), matches the narration of Muslim, while the wording in the Muwatta is "for My glory" (li-jalali), and the meaning is the same, that is, on account of My greatness, out of reverence for Allah's right and obedience to Him and sincerity, not for any worldly gain. So he loves whoever obeys Allah, and detests whoever disobeys Him and turns away from His command.
