The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not tell you who is the best among you?"They replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "The best of you are those with the longest lives and the finest deeds."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, I asked my father about Ala bin Abdul-Rahman narrating from his father, and Suhayl narrating from his father. He replied, "I have never heard anyone mention Ala except favorably," and he gave precedence to Abu Salih over Ala.

ل قال رسول الله ﷺ ألا أنبئكم بخيركم قالوا نعم يا رسول الله قال خياركم أطولكم أعمارا وأحسنكم أعمالا قال أبو عبد الرحمن سألت أبي عن العلاء بن عبد الرحمن عن أبيه وسهيل عن أبيه فقال لم أسمع أحدا ذكر العلاء إلا بخير وقدم أبا صالح على العلاء
