Abu Qasim ﷺ said, "There is an hour on Friday during which no Muslim servant happens to be standing in prayer, asking Allah for something good, except that Allah grants it to him." And he gestured with his hand to indicate its brevity.We said, "He is showing how short and fleeting it is."
حدثنا إسماعيل حدثنا أيوب عن محمد
أبو القاسم ﷺ إن في الجمعة لساعة لا يوافقها عبد مسلم قائم يصلي يسأل الله خيرا إلا أعطاه الله إياه وقال بيده قلنا يقللها يزهدها
Its isnad is sahih. It was narrated by the whole group, as in Muntaqa 1565, and he said, except that Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud did not mention the standing, nor its shortening. See also Targhib wal-Tarhib 1:250. Malik also narrated it in Muwatta, p. 108, from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah.
