I prayed the late night prayer, or he said the evening prayer, with Abu Hurairah. He recited "When the sky is split asunder" and prostrated during it.I said, "Abu Hurairah?"He replied, "I prostrated during this surah behind Abu Qasim ﷺ, and I will continue to prostrate at it until I meet him."
حدثنا معتمر بن سليمان حدثنا أبي عن بكر
صليت مع أبي هريرة صلاة العتمة أو قال صلاة العشاء فقرأ إذا السماء انشقت فسجد فيها فقلت يا أبا هريرة فقال سجدت فيها خلف أبي القاسم ﷺ فلا أزال أسجدها حتى ألقاه
Its isnad is sahih. Bakr is Ibn Abdullah Muzani. Abu Rafi is Nufay bin Rafi Sayigh, a senior Follower who lived in the pre-Islamic era. Ibn Saad, Ajli, and others rated him trustworthy. Ibn Saad wrote about him in Tabaqat 88/1/7-89, and the Hafiz in Isabah 7:71-72. The hadith was also related by the two Shaykhs, as noted in Muntaqa 1307, and Ibn Kathir mentioned it in his tafsir 9:149, adding that it was also attributed to Abu Dawud and Nasai.
