Its isnad is sahih. Khalid is Ibn Mihran Haddan, whose reliability was established earlier at 1454, and I add here that Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 159/1/2, and Ibn Abu Hatim in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 352/2/1–353. Yusuf is Ibn Abdullah bin Harith Ansari, the nephew (son of the sister) of Muhammad bin Sirin, whose reliability was established earlier at 2411. His father, Abdullah bin Harith, had his reliability established earlier at 2138, and we add here that Ibn Abu Hatim gave his biography in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 31/2/3. Khalid Haddan reported both from Yusuf and from his father Abdullah bin Harith.But the uncertainty found here is, in my view, simply a mistake made by one of the narrators of the Musnad. For Yusuf bin Abdullah did not report from any companion except Anas bin Malik, whereas this particular hadith he reported from his father, from Abu Hurairah. Muslim narrated it in his Sahih, 1:474, by the route of Abdul-Aziz bin Mukhtar, from Khalid Haddan, from Yusuf bin Abdullah, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, as a raised hadith, with the wording, "When you differ about the road, its width shall be set at seven cubits."It will come again through other routes from Abu Hurairah with a similar meaning at 9533, 10013, 10139, and 10422. It was likewise narrated by the whole group except Nasai, as is found in al-Muntaqa 3018. See also Fath al-Bari 85:5, and what has already passed in the Musnad of Ibn Abbas at 2914.
