The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever finds his exact property in the possession of a man who has gone bankrupt has a greater right to it than anyone else."

Its isnad is sahih. Yahya bin Saeed bin Qays bin Amr Ansari Najjari Madani, his reliability was already established at 992 and 5828.Abu Bakr bin Muhammad bin Amr bin Hazm, Ansari Khazraji Najjari, the judge, an imam who was trustworthy and narrated many hadiths. Malik said, "We had no one in Madinah who possessed the knowledge of judgeship that Abu Bakr bin Muhammad bin Amr bin Hazm possessed." Umar bin Abdul-Aziz had appointed him, and wrote to him instructing him to record for him the knowledge held by Amra bint Abdul-Rahman and Qasim bin Muhammad. There was no Ansari governor in Madinah other than Abu Bakr bin Hazm. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kuna, number 58.Umar bin Abdul-Aziz bin Marwan bin Hakam, Commander of the Faithful, the just imam, one of the rightly guided caliphs, a trustworthy and reliable imam possessing jurisprudence, knowledge, and piety. He is too well known to need praise or introduction. His mother was Umm Asim bint Asim bin Umar bin Khattab.Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman bin Harith bin Hisham bin Mughira Makhzumi Qurashi, his reliability was already established at 1740, and we add here that Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kuna, number 51, as did Ibn Saad in al-Tabaqat, 133/2/2 and 5/153-154, and Dhahabi in Tarikh Islam, 4:72-73.The hadith was narrated by the group, as noted in al-Muntaqa, 2991.
