Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While a man was strutting along in a fine garment, Allah 
commanded the earth to seize him, so it took hold of him, and he will keep sinking into it until the Day of Resurrection."

عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال
قال رسول الله ﷺ بينما رجل يتبختر في حلة إذ أمر الله عز وجل به الأرض فأخذته فهو يتجلجل فيها أو يتجرجر فيها إلى يوم القيامة
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Fudayl is Muhammad bin Fudayl bin Ghazwan. Tirmidhi narrated this hadith with similar wording, 3:315, through Abu Ahwas, from Ata bin Saaib, with this same chain, and he said, "hasan sahih hadith." See what came before in the Musnad of Abdullah bin Amr bin As, no. 5340.The phrase "yatabahharu bahran" comes from al-bahr, meaning drought. In manuscript H it appears as "yatabahharu wa-bahr," with a waw. What appears in manuscripts L, K, and M is "aw yatabahharu bahr," with the particle "or" (aw), and this is correct, Allah willing. In Tirmidhi it appears as "yatajaljalu," or he said, "yatalajlaju." The meaning is similar.
