Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

I asked the Prophet ﷺ, "Messenger of Allah, do you feel the revelation when it comes?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes, I hear ringing sounds, then I fall silent at that moment. Never has revelation come to me without my thinking that my soul is about to depart."

سألت النبي ﷺ فقلت يا رسول الله هل تحس بالوحي فقال رسول الله ﷺ نعم أسمع صلاصل ثم أسكت عند ذلك فما من مرة يوحى إلي إلا ظننت أن نفسي تفيض
