When the sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, an announcement was made that the prayer was being held in congregation. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed two bowings in a single unit, after which the sun cleared.Ayesha, Umm Muiminin, said, "I have never made a prostration longer than that, nor performed a bowing longer than that."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hisham bin Saad is al-Talaqani, a teacher of Ahmad. We previously noted at 4981 that the reference works on narrators and the manuscript copies of the Musnad differ regarding his father's name, whether it was Asad or Saeed, and we concluded there that it was Saad, then concluded at 5690 that it was Saeed. Here it appears as Saeed in ح and م, and as Saad in ك. My preference now still remains that it is Saeed. As for Yahya bin Abu Kathir, his name appears here in ح as Yahya bin Kathir, which is an error. We corrected it based on ك and م and the biographical reference works. It appears correctly in ح for this same chain when it is repeated after this, under number 7047, as we will note, Allah willing. This hadith is a duplicate of 6631 and 7047 (unclear symbols follow in the original, apparently repeated question marks).Number (7047) is the preceding hadith repeated with the identical chain of transmission in ح. The editor who verified it wrote in the margin the following note, "This hadith was found repeated in some copies in this way, so we recorded it accordingly." We have removed it from this edition, and placed zeros next to its number in the body of the text here, since we are certain that this addition is an error made by some of the copyists. For this reason it is not mentioned as repeated in the manuscripts ك and م.
