Abu Kabsha al-Saluli came toward us while we were in the mosque, and Makhul, Ibn Abu Zakariyya, and Abu Bahriyya rose to meet him.He said, "I heard Abdullah bin Amr say, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Convey from me, even if it is a single verse. Narrate from the Children of Israil, there is no harm in that. But whoever lies about me deliberately, let him take his seat in the Fire."'"
حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا الأوزاعي
أقبل أبو كبشة السلولي ونحن في المسجد فقام إليه مكحول وابن أبي زكريا وأبو بحرية فقال سمعت عبد الله بن عمرو يقول سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول بلغوا عني ولو آية وحدثوا عن بني إسرائيل ولا حرج ومن كذب علي متعمدا فليتبوأ مقعده من النار
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Mughira is Abdullah bin Hajjaj Khawlani Himsi. The hadith has already appeared at 6486 and 6888 through the route of Uzai, but in those two routes there is no mention of the presence of Makhul, Ibn Abu Zakariya, and Abu Bahriya at the time when Hassan bin Atiya heard it from Abu Kabsha Saluli. Makhul is the Damascene follower of the companions (tabii). Ibn Abu Zakariya is Abdullah bin Abu Zakariya, the follower of the companions, who was one of the jurists of Damascus and a contemporary of Makhul. Abu Bahriya, with the letter ha unvoweled, is Abdullah bin Qays Kindi, the follower of the companions, who was one of those who lived in both the pre-Islamic era and Islam, and he died in the year 77. Makhul and Ibn Abu Zakariya died toward the end of the second decade of the second century. So these men, among the senior followers of the companions, relied on Abu Kabsha Saluli as evidence, which shows that he was among the early and senior followers of the companions.
