A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have relatives with whom I maintain ties while they sever them, I forgive them while they wrong me, and I treat them well while they treat me badly. Shall I repay them in kind?"He replied, "No, for then you would all be abandoned together. Rather, take the path of Fadl and maintain ties with them, for as long as you do so, you will always have a supporter from Allah, Zaheer, with you."
حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا الحجاج بن أرطاة
جاء رجل إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إن لي ذوي أرحام أصل ويقطعون وأعفو ويظلمون وأحسن ويسيئون أفأكافئهم قال لا إذا تتركون جميعا ولكن خذ بالفضل وصلهم فإنه لن يزال معك من الله ظهير ما كنت على ذلك
