A man came to the Prophet ﷺ to pledge allegiance to him for emigration, having left his parents weeping. The Prophet ﷺ spoke firmly to him and the man said, "I did not come to you until I had made them weep," meaning his parents.The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go back and make them laugh just as you made them weep."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عطاء بن السائب عن أبيه
أتى النبي ﷺ رجل يبايعه على الهجرة وغلظ عليه فقال ما جئتك حتى أبكيتهما يعني والديه قال ارجع فأضحكهما كما أبكيتهما
