Then I asked him, "Abdullah bin Umar, did you hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention anything about the one who drinks wine?"He replied, "Yes, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one from my nation drinks wine and has his prayers accepted by Allah for forty mornings.'"
Its isnad is sahih. Muhammad bin Muhajir bin Abu Muslim Shami is trustworthy, and he was deemed trustworthy by Ahmad, Ibn Main, Abu Zura, and others. Ibn Hibban said in al-Thiqat, "He was precise," and Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 1/1/229. Urwa bin Ruwaym Lakhmi Ardani was a trustworthy successor, and he was deemed trustworthy by Ibn Main, Nasai, and others. Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 4/1/33, Ibn Abu Hatim in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 3/1/396, and Ibn Saad in al-Tabaqat 7/2/165. Ruwaym is with a damma on the ra. Ibn Daylami is Abdullah bin Firuz Daylami, whose trustworthiness was already established at 6644.This hadith is an abridged version of 6644 from another route, and its sourcing was already given there. What is additional here is that Nasai narrated it from this route in abridged form, 2:330, via Uthman bin Hisn bin Allaq from Urwa bin Ruwaym. See also 6659 and 6773.6854m, He said, and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah created His creation, then placed them in darkness, then took from His light what He willed and cast it upon them. So the light struck whoever He willed it to strike, and missed whoever He willed it to miss. Whoever the light struck that day was guided, and whoever it missed that day went astray. That is why I said, the pen has dried with what is to be."Sahih (6854m). Its isnad is sahih, by the soundness of the isnad before it. This hadith, like the one before it, is an abridged version of 6644 from another route. Haythami mentioned it with this wording in Majma al-Zawaid 7:193–194, as we noted there.
