A group of people were sitting at the door of the Prophet ﷺ, and some of them said, "Did Allah not say such and such?" while others said, "Did Allah not say such and such?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard this and came out looking as though pomegranate seeds had been crushed on his face. He said, "Is this what you were commanded to do? Is this what I was sent for, that you should strike parts of the Book of Allah against other parts? The nations before you went astray over matters like this. You have nothing to do with such disputes. Look to what you have been commanded and act upon it, and to what you have been forbidden and refrain from it."
