Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever performs his deeds to be heard of by people, Allah will make the hearers of His creation hear of him, and He will belittle him and demean him."At that, the eyes of Abdullah bin Umar overflowed with tears.

حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة حدثنا رجل في بيت أبي عبيدة أنه سمع عبد الله بن عمرو يحدث

عبد الله بن عمر قال

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من سمع الناس بعمله سمع الله به سامع خلقه وصغره وحقره قال فذرفت عينا عبد الله بن عمر
