A man came to Abdullah bin Umar while a group of people were with him. He stepped through the crowd toward him, but they tried to stop him.Abdullah said, "Let him through."So he came forward and sat beside him. He said, "Tell me something you have memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."He replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe, and the emigrant is the one who abandons what Allah has forbidden.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد عن إسماعيل قال
جاء رجل إلى عبد الله بن عمرو وعنده القوم فتخطى إليه فمنعوه فقال دعوه فأتى حتى جلس عنده فقال أخبرني بشيء حفظته من رسول الله ﷺ فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول المسلم من سلم المسلمون من لسانه ويده والمهاجر من هجر ما نهى الله عنه
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a longer version of 6515 with this same isnad. We noted there that Abu Dawud narrated it at length, and this is the longer narration. See also 6792.
