The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it away from people. Rather, He takes knowledge away by taking away the scholars, until, when no scholar remains, people take ignorant men as their leaders. These are consulted, and they give rulings without knowledge, so they go astray and lead others astray."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد قال أملى علي هشام بن عروة حدثني أبي قال سمعت عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص من فيه إلى في قال قال رسول الله ﷺ فذكر نحوه
