The Prophet ﷺ said, "Learn the recitation of the Quran from four men, Abdullah bin Masud, Salim the freed slave of Abu Huzaifa, Muaz bin Jabal, and Ubayy bin Kaab."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن سليمان سمعت أبا وائل يحدث عن مسروق
عن النبي ﷺ قال استقرئوا القرآن من أربعة من عبد الله بن مسعود وسالم مولى أبي حذيفة ومعاذ بن جبل وأبي بن كعب
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Sulayman is Amash. The hadith is an abridgment of 5623. Tayalisi also narrated it, 2247, from Shubah.6767-M. He said, and he said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was not indecent, nor coarse. He said, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The most beloved of you to me are those with the best character." Sahih (6767-M). Its chain of transmission is sahih, with the same chain as before. The hadith is an abridgment of 6504. Tayalisi narrated it, 2246, from Shubah. See also 6735.
