Abu Thalaba al-Khashani came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have trained hunting dogs, so give me a ruling concerning their game."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "If you have trained hunting dogs, then eat from what they catch for you."Abu Thalaba asked, "Messenger of Allah, whether slaughtered properly or not?"He answered, "Whether slaughtered properly or not."Abu Thalaba asked, "Even if the dog has eaten from it?"He answered, "Even if the dog has eaten from it."Abu Thalaba then said, "Messenger of Allah, give me a ruling concerning my bow."He replied, "Eat whatever your bow catches for you."Abu Thalaba asked, "Whether slaughtered properly or not?"He answered, "Whether slaughtered properly or not."Abu Thalaba asked, "Even if the game disappears from my sight?"He answered, "Even if it disappears from your sight, as long as it has not become putrid, meaning changed, or you find on it the mark of an arrow other than yours."Abu Thalaba then asked, "Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling concerning the vessels of the Magians when we are compelled to use them."He answered, "When you are compelled to use them, wash them with water and cook in them."
حدثنا عبد الصمد بن عبد الوارث حدثني أبي حدثنا حبيب عن عمرو عن أبيه
أن أبا ثعلبة الخشني أتى النبي ﷺ فقال يا رسول الله إن لي كلابا مكلبة فأفتني في صيدها فقال إن كانت لك كلاب مكلبة فكل مما أمسكت عليك فقال يا رسول الله ذكي وغير ذكي قال ذكي وغير ذكي قال وإن أكل منه قال وإن أكل منه قال يا رسول الله أفتني في قوسي قال كل ما أمسكت عليك قوسك قال ذكي وغير ذكي قال ذكي وغير ذكي قال وإن تغيب عني قال وإن تغيب عنك ما لم يصل يعني يتغير أو تجد فيه أثر غير سهمك قال يا رسول الله أفتنا في آنية المجوس إذا اضطررنا إليها قال إذا اضطررتم إليها فاغسلوها بالماء واطبخوا فيها
