A herd of camels collected as zakat passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He stretched out his hand toward a tuft of fur on the side of one of the camels and said, "I have no greater right to this tuft of fur than any other man among the Muslims."

Its isnad is hasan. Aban bin Abdullah Bajali is trustworthy, deemed reliable by Ibn Main, Ahmad, Ajli, and Ibn Numayr, and Tirmidhi, Hakim, and Ibn Khuzayma graded his narration sahih. Amr bin Ghazi bin Abu Ilba is obscure, and Dhahabi said he is unknown. His paternal uncle, Ilba bin Abu Ilba, was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in Ath-Thiqat, and Bukhari mentioned this hadith in Tarikh al-Kabir in his biographical entry at 77/1/4, without noting any criticism of him or of his nephew.Ghazi is spelled with a damma on the ghayn, a doubled and kasra-vowelled zay, and a doubled final ya.The hadith appears in Majma 84/3, where it is attributed to Abu Yaala, who said, "It contains Amr bin Ghazi, and no one narrated from him except Aban, but the rest of its narrators are trustworthy." He fell short here by not attributing it to Musnad, though he did attribute it there at 5/231.
