The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out one day while the people were debating about divine decree. It was as though pomegranate seeds had been crushed onto his face from the intensity of his anger. He said to them, "What is the matter with you, striking the Book of Allah one part against another? It was by this that those before you were destroyed."The narrator said, "I have never been so glad to have missed a gathering at which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was present as I was glad to have missed that one."

Its isnad is sahih. Dawud bin Abu Hind, his reliability was already established at 1998, and we add here that Bukhari included his biography in Al-Kabir 2/1/213-214. The hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah 1:23 through the route of Ali bin Muhammad from Abu Muawiya, with this same isnad. Its commentator Sindi quoted from the additions of Busiri, who said, this is a sahih isnad, its narrators are trustworthy, but Sindi then followed this with remarks about Amr bin Shuayb that serve no real purpose. It will come again at length at 6702.
