Its isnad is sahih. Sharik is Ibn Abdullah the judge. Abu Ishaq is Subayi, with the sin unvoweled and the ba given a kasrah, whose name was Amr bin Abdullah. He was a well-known, reliable follower of the companions, and Bukhari gave his biography in al-Saghir (p. 148), as did Ibn Abu Hatim in al-Jarh wal-Tadil (242/1/3-243), and Ibn Saad in al-Tabaqat 6:219-220. Subayi is a name derived from Bani Subay, a clan of Hamdan.Haythami mentioned this hadith in Majma al-Zawaid 10:261, saying, "Ahmad narrated it, and its isnad is jayyid." The word "and women" was dropped from the end of the hadith in Majma al-Zawaid, which is an error by a copyist or typesetter, since it is confirmed in the manuscripts of the Musnad and in all the sources that quoted it from there. It is also found in al-Targhib wal-Tarhib 4:85, where it says, "Ahmad narrated it with a jayyid isnad."
