Amr bin Harish reported,

I asked Abdullah bin Amr bin As, "We are in a land where there are no dinars or dirhams, and we trade camels and sheep on credit for a fixed term. What is your view on that?"He replied, "You have asked someone with knowledge. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was preparing an army with camels from the camels of zakat, but they ran out before everyone was equipped. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Buy camels for us against young she-camels from the zakat camels, to be delivered when they arrive, so we can pay the sellers from them.' I bought one camel for two or three young she-camels until I had finished, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ paid for them from the zakat camels."

عن عمرو بن الحريش قال

سألت عبد الله بن عمرو بن العاص فقلت إنا بأرض ليس بها دينار ولا درهم وإنما نبايع بالإبل والغنم إلى أجل فما ترى في ذلك قال على الخبير سقطت جهز رسول الله ﷺ جيشا على إبل من إبل الصدقة حتى نفدت وبقي ناس فقال رسول الله ﷺ اشتر لنا إبلا من قلائص من إبل الصدقة إذا جاءت حتى نؤديها إليهم فاشتريت البعير بالاثنين والثلاث قلائص حتى فرغت فأدى ذلك رسول الله ﷺ من إبل الصدقة
