Ibn Abu Mulayka reported,

Sometimes the rein would fall from the hand of Abu Bakr al-Siddiq , and he would tap the foreleg of his camel to make it kneel so he could pick it up himself.They said to him, "Why did you not ask us to hand it to you?"He replied, "My beloved, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, commanded me never to ask people for anything."

كان ربما سقط الخطام من يد أبي بكر الصديق رضي الله عنه قال فيضرب بذراع ناقته فينيخها فيأخذه قال فقالوا له أفلا أمرتنا نناولكه فقال إن حبيبي رسول الله ﷺ أمرني أن لا أسأل الناس شيئا
