The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a ring made of gold, with its stone set on the inside. One day, while he was delivering a sermon, he said, "I had made a ring and used to wear it with the stone facing inward. By Allah, I will never wear it again." Then he threw it away, and the people threw away their rings as well.
Its isnad is sahih. It is a repetition of 6007 with similar wording. See also 6107 and 6271.Regarding his saying, "the setting of its stone," it is spelled with a dotted dad. In H it appears as "and he made," which is a printing corruption, and we have corrected it from K and M.
