The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked down into the well at Badr, then called out to them, "People of the well, have you found what your Lord promised you to be true?"Some of his companions said, "Messenger of Allah, are you calling out to people who are dead?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "You do not hear what I am saying any better than they do."
