The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No servant has ever swallowed anything more excellent in the sight of Allah than a swallow of anger that he restrains seeking the face of Allah Almighty."
حدثنا شجاع بن الوليد عن عمر بن محمد عن سالم
قال رسول الله ﷺ ما تجرع عبد جرعة أفضل عند الله عز وجل من جرعة غيظ يكظمها ابتغاء وجه الله تعالى
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Umar bin Muhammad bin Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar, his reliability was already established at 2516, and here he narrates, in this chain and the one that follows it, from his father's uncle Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar. The hadith is a repetition of 6114, and we have already noted this there. However, I still have doubts about this chain for this hadith, for it is not mentioned in K or M, and I have not found anyone who pointed to it when documenting this hadith. I fear that its inclusion in this place may be an oversight by a copyist or printer. Perhaps we will find something that removes this doubt, or that establishes with certainty that it is an oversight or error, if we come across another manuscript of the Musnad that we can consult on this point, or if some of our brothers among the scholars of hadith, those known for their precision and reliability, consult it, Allah willing.
