The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you meet a pilgrim returning from Hajj, greet him with salaam, shake his hand, and ask him to seek forgiveness for you before he enters his home, for he has been forgiven."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا محمد بن الحارث الحارثي حدثني محمد بن عبد الرحمن البيلماني عن أبيه
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا لقيت الحاج فسلم عليه وصافحه ومره أن يستغفر لك قبل أن يدخل بيته فإنه مغفور له
Its isnad is very daif due to the weakness of Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman Bilamani. This hadith is a repetition of 5371 with the same isnad, and we have already explained its weakness there.Regarding Muhammad bin Harith Harithi, the text here in the three original manuscripts has "Harrani" instead of "Harithi," while the margin of manuscript K has the version "Harithi," which is the correct one. "Harrani" is definitely an error, since there is no mention of this attribution in his biography. Had it existed, Dhahabi would have mentioned it in al-Mushtabih, or Samani in al-Ansab, or someone among those who wrote a biography of this Muhammad bin Harith would have pointed to it. The three original manuscripts agree on the correct version in the earlier place, 5371.
