I was sitting with Abdullah bin Umar, then I went to Saeed bin Musayab and left a man from Kindah with him. The Kindi came back alarmed, so I asked him, "What happened?"He said, "A man came to Abdullah bin Umar just now and said, 'I swear by the Kaabah.' Abdullah said, 'Swear by the Lord of the Kaabah, for Umar used to swear by his father, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Do not swear by your father, for whoever swears by other than Allah has committed shirk."'"

كنت جالسا عند عبد الله بن عمر فجئت سعيد بن المسيب وتركت عنده رجلا من كندة فجاء الكندي مروعا فقلت ما وراءك قال جاء رجل إلى عبد الله بن عمر آنفا فقال أحلف بالكعبة فقال احلف برب الكعبة فإن عمر كان يحلف بأبيه فقال له النبي ﷺ لا تحلف بأبيك فإنه من حلف بغير الله فقد أشرك
