The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a military expedition toward Najd, and Abdullah bin Umar was among them. Their share came to twelve camels each, and they were each given an additional camel as a bonus.
حدثنا إسحاق حدثنا مالك عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ بعث سرية قبل نجد فيها عبد الله بن عمر فكانت سهمانهم اثني عشر بعيرا ونفلوا بعيرا بعيرا
Its isnad is sahih, and it is a repetition of 5519. It has also occurred before at 5288, from the narration of Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi from Malik. It is found in the Muwatta 2:8 in a similar wording to Ibn Mahdi's narration. In the Muwatta, "Fa-qaddamna bi-ladha" appears instead of "Iyla," which is a printing error, and the correct reading is confirmed in Sharh Zurqani 2:299.His saying, "fa-kanat," appears in [manuscript] k as "wa-kanat." "Ithna ashar" appears in [manuscript] m as "al-ithna ashar," and its explanation has already been given at 5519. What appears here is what is confirmed in [manuscripts] h and k, and in a copy in the margin of m.
