Wahb had met Ibn Umar. It is not in Ibn Malik's book that Ibn Umar once saw a shepherd grazing his flock in a poor location when there was a better spot nearby. Ibn Umar said to him, "Woe to you, shepherd! Move them to a better place, for I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'Every shepherd is responsible for his flock.'"

وكان وهب أدرك ابن عمر ليس في كتاب ابن مالك أن ابن عمر رأى راعي غنم في مكان قبيح وقد رأى ابن عمر مكانا أمثل منه فقال ابن عمر ويحك يا راعي حولها فإني سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول كل راع مسئول عن رعيته

Its isnad is sahih. Wahb bin Kaysan, his reliability was already established at 2002, and we add here that he is a well-known Follower who narrated from Asma bint Abu Bakr, Ibn Abbas, Ibn Umar, Ibn Zubayr, Jabir, Anas, and others. Bukhari gave him a biographical entry in al-Kabir 2/4/163 and said, "He heard from Jabir bin Abdullah and Umar bin Abu Salama."As for the one who says here, in the middle of the isnad, "Wahb had met Ibn Umar," this is not in the book of Ibn Malik. It appears that this is Ibn al-Mudhhib, who transmitted the Musnad from Qatii, or one of the narrators of the Musnad below the level of Ibn al-Mudhhib, wanting to state explicitly that Wahb bin Kaysan was a Follower who had met Ibn Umar, so he mentioned that, then said, "It is not in the book of Ibn Malik," meaning that this addition was one he himself added and that it is not in the original text of Qatii, who is Ahmad bin Jafar bin Hamdan bin Malik.
