The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When any of you comes to the Friday prayer, let him perform a full bath."
حدثنا أبو المغيرة حدثنا الأوزاعي حدثني يحيى عن نافع
قال رسول الله ﷺ إذا جاء أحدكم الجمعة فليغتسل
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abu Mughira is Abdullah bin Hajjaj Khawlani Himsi, whose reliability was already established at 1672, and we add here that Ibn Abu Hatim included his biography in al-Jarh wal-Tadil 3/1/56, and Bukhari in al-Saghir 231. Abdullah died in the year 212, and Ahmad bin Hanbal led the funeral prayer over him.Yahya is Ibn Saeed Ansari, the judge of Madinah, whose reliability was already established at 992, and we add here that Bukhari included his biography in al-Kabir 2/4/275,276, and in al-Saghir 167, mentioning in both that he died in the year 143.The hadith is a repetition of 5777.
