The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prescribed the zakat al-fitr as one saa of dates or one saa of barley, due upon every slave and free person, young and old.
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد حدثنا عبيد الله عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ فرض زكاة الفطر صاعا من تمر أو صاعا من شعير على كل عبد أو حر صغير أو كبير
Its isnad is sahih, and it is an abridgment of 5339. His words, "small," appear in a manuscript in the margin of M as "or small."
