The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the night prayer until people had fallen asleep, those who pray at night had risen for their devotions, and others had woken up. Then he came out, the prayer was called, and he said, "Were it not that it would be a hardship on my community, I would have delayed it until this time."
حدثنا أبو أحمد الزبيري حدثنا إسرائيل عن فضيل عن مجاهد
أخر رسول الله ﷺ صلاة العشاء حتى نام الناس وتهجد المتهجدون واستيقظ المستيقظ فخرج فأقيمت الصلاة وقال لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأخرتها إلى هذا الوقت
