Its isnad is sahih. Hadith 2195 has already passed, from Yahya, from Ubaydullah, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, as a marfu narration, "Bilal calls the adhan while it is still night," etc. Its meaning has also passed several times through another route from Ibn Umar, the last of which was 5498. I am inclined to think that this hadith here is an abridgment of that same meaning. This wording of Ahmad's is found in Muslim 1/301.
