The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you is praying, he should not let anyone pass in front of him. If the person refuses, let him fight him off, for there is a devil accompanying him."
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muhammad bin Ismail, bin Muslim bin Abu Fudayk is trustworthy, one of the teachers of Shafii and Ahmad. Ibn Main and others rated him trustworthy, and Bukhari mentioned him in Tarikh al-Kabir 1/1/37. In [manuscript] h it reads, "Ismail bin Abu Fudayk narrated to us," which is a clear error. We corrected it from k and m, and restored "Muhammad ibn."Dahhak bin Uthman bin Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hizam Asadi is trustworthy. Ahmad, Ibn Main, Ibn Saad and others rated him trustworthy, and Bukhari mentioned him in Tarikh al-Kabir 2/2/335, but stated that he was a descendant of Hakeem bin Hizam. As for Sadaqah bin Yasar Makki, we concluded in [hadith] 4584 and 4928 that he narrates from Ibn Umar, and this chain confirms and establishes what we concluded, especially since he explicitly stated that he heard directly from him, as will be mentioned. This hadith was narrated by Muslim, 1:144, and Ibn Majah, 1:157, both through the route of Muhammad bin Ismail bin Abu Fudayk, with this chain of transmission. Muslim also narrated it through the route of Abu Bakr Hanafi, who said, "Dahhak bin Uthman narrated to us, saying, Sadaqah bin Yasar narrated to us, saying, I heard Ibn Umar say, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said," with a similar wording. The qarin is the companion from among the angels and the devils. Every human has a qarin from each of the two. His qarin from the angels commands him to do good and urges him toward it, and his qarin from the devils commands him to do evil and urges him toward it. This is what Ibn Athir said.
