The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Jibreel ﷺ kept urging me to take care of the neighbor until I thought he would make him an heir," or he said, "until I feared he would make him an heir."
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عمر بن محمد بن زيد أنه سمع أباه محمدا يحدث
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال ما زال جبريل ﷺ يوصيني بالجار حتى ظننت أنه سيورثه أو قال خشيت أن يورثه
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari (10:369, 370) and Muslim (2:293) both narrated it through Yazid bin Zuray, from Umar bin Muhammad, from his father, from Ibn Umar. See also Targheeb wal-Tarheeb (3:238). "Khasiytu" appears in the margin of one copy as "hasiytuhu". Ibn Kathir mentioned it in his Tafsir (2:442), citing this very passage, then said, "Both of them narrated it in the Sahihayn from the hadith of Muhammad bin Zayd bin Abdullah bin Umar, through this same chain."
