The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade qazaa. Abdul-Samad explained that it is leaving a patch of hair on the head.
حدثنا عبد الصمد وأبو سعيد قالا حدثنا عبد الله بن المثنى حدثنا عبد الله بن دينار
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن القزع قال عبد الصمد وهو الرقعة في الرأس
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Saeed is the freedman of Banu Hashim, Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Ubayd Basri. Abdullah bin Muthanna bin Abdullah bin Anas bin Malik Ansari is trustworthy. Tirmidhi and Ajli confirmed his reliability, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators, saying, "He sometimes erred." Ibn Main, Abu Zura, and Abu Hatim said, "He is decent." Bukhari cited him in his Sahih, indeed citing from him some of what they claimed was among the things criticized against him, and Bukhari's citation is proof enough. This hadith is a repetition of 5356.
