The Prophet ﷺ sent us out on a raiding party toward Tihama, and we captured spoils. Our shares came to twelve camels each, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted us one additional camel apiece.
قال وبعثنا النبي ﷺ في سرية نحو تهامة فأصبنا غنيمة فبلغ سهماننا اثني عشر بعيرا ونفلنا رسول الله ﷺ بعيرا بعيرا
Its isnad is sahih, and it is an abridgment of 5288. "Our two shares" (sahmanuna) in one manuscript, in the margin of M, is "our shares" (sihamuna). "Twelve" (ithnay ashar) in M is "ithna ashar," and above it is written the mark "sahih," and it is grammatically correct, even though it is the object of the verb "amounted to" (balagha).It has been established in another hadith in Sahih Bukhari that one of the companions said, "and our slaves numbered twelve" (using ithna ashar). Ibn Malik said in Shawahid al-Tawdih wal-Tashih, page 65, "What is apparently required is that he should say, 'and our slaves numbered twelve men' (using the accusative ithnay ashar rajulan), because ithnay ashar functions as a circumstantial accusative referring to the pronoun na. But he used the alif form according to the dialect of Banu Harith bin Kaab, for they keep the alif fixed in the dual, and in whatever follows its pattern, in all grammatical states, because for them it is treated like an indeclinable noun."
