When the Prophet ﷺ was pressed for time during travel, he would combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers. According to one version of their narration, he would delay both prayers until a quarter of the night had passed.
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا سفيان عن يحيى وعبيد الله بن عمر وموسى بن عقبة عن نافع
أن النبي ﷺ كان إذا جد به السير جمع بين المغرب والعشاء وكان في بعض حديثهما إلى ربع الليل أخرهما جميعا
