Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah forbid the sale of habal al-habalah. This was a transaction the people of the pre-Islamic era used to engage in, so he forbade them from it.

حدثنا يزيد أخبرنا محمد عن نافع

عن ابن عمر قال

سمعت رسول الله ينهى عن بيع حبل الحبلة وذاك أن أهل الجاهلية كانوا يبيعون ذلك البيع فنهاهم عن ذلك
