He mentioned Uthman and his intense modesty, saying that he would be alone in the house with the door shut, yet he would not remove his garment to pour water over himself, his modesty preventing him from straightening his back.

Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abdul-Samad is Ibn Abdul-Warith. Salim Abu Jumai, in the diminutive form, is Salim bin Dinar, or Ibn Rashid al-Qazzaz al-Basri, and he is trustworthy. Hasan is al-Basri. The report appears in Majma al-Zawaid 9/82, where it is stated, "Its narrators are trustworthy."
