The Messenger of Allah ﷺ carried out the liaan oath between a man and his wife, then assigned the child to its mother, since the man had denied being the child's father.
حدثنا أبو سلمة الخزاعي أخبرنا مالك عن نافع
أن رسول الله ﷺ لاعن بين رجل وامرأته وألحق الولد بأمه وكان انتفى من ولدها
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Salama Khuzai is Mansur bin Salama bin Abdul-Aziz, the Hafiz of Baghdad, and he is trustworthy. Ibn Main and others considered him trustworthy, and Daraqutni said, "One of the trustworthy, memorizing, eminent scholars, whom people used to ask about men and whose statements about them were accepted." Bukhari gave his biography in al-Kabir 4/1/348. The hadith is a repetition of 5312.
