I saw the spoils of war divided into five portions, then lots were drawn over them. Whatever fell to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was his to choose from as he wished.

رأيت المغانم تجزأ خمسة أجزاء ثم يسهم عليها فما كان لرسول الله ﷺ فهو له يتخير
