I was sitting with Abdullah bin Umar in the gathering place of Banu Abdullah when a young man from Quraysh passed by, letting his garment trail on the ground. Abdullah bin Umar called him over and asked, "Who are your people?"The young man replied, "I am from Banu Bakr."Abdullah bin Umar said, "Would you like Allah Most High to look at you on the Day of Resurrection?"He answered, "Yes."Abdullah bin Umar said, "Then raise your garment, for I heard Abu al-Qasim ﷺ," and he pointed with his finger to his ears, "say, 'Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'"

كنت جالسا مع عبد الله بن عمر في مجلس بني عبد الله فمر فتى مسبلا إزاره من قريش فدعاه عبد الله بن عمر فقال ممن أنت فقال من بني بكر فقال تحب أن ينظر الله تعالى إليك يوم القيامة قال نعم قال ارفع إزارك فإني سمعت أبا القاسم ﷺ وأومأ بإصبعه إلى أذنيه يقول من جر إزاره لا يريد إلا الخيلاء لم ينظر الله إليه يوم القيامة
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Malik is Ibn Abu Sulayman. The hadith has already appeared in similar form at 5050 via the route of Shubah from Muslim bin Yannaq, and we noted there that Muslim also narrated it via the route of Abdul-Malik. In this hadith, the young man is from Banu Bakr, while in Shubah's version he is from Banu Layth, and both are correct, for he belongs to Banu Layth bin Bakr bin Abdu Manat bin Kinanah bin Khuzayma, one of the clans of Quraysh.
