Muslim Abu Saeed reported,
Uthman bin Affan freed twenty slaves, then called for a pair of trousers and tied them on, though he had never worn them in the days of ignorance nor in Islam. He said, "Last night I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a dream, and I saw Abu Bakr and Umar 
, and they said to me, 'Be patient, for you will break your fast with us tomorrow.'"Then he called for a copy of the Quran, spread it open before him, and was killed while it lay open before him.

عن مسلم أبي سعيد مولى عثمان بن عفان
أن عثمان بن عفان أعتق عشرين مملوكا ودعا بسراويل فشدها عليه ولم يلبسها في جاهلية ولا إسلام وقال إني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ البارحة في المنام ورأيت أبا بكر وعمر رضي الله عنهما وإنهم قالوا لي اصبر فإنك تفطر عندنا القابلة ثم دعا بمصحف فنشره بين يديه فقتل وهو بين يديه

Its isnad is sahih. Yunus bin Abu Yafur was deemed daif by Ahmad and others, but Daraqutni deemed him trustworthy, and Muslim included him in his Sahih. His father, whose name was Qadan, was discussed previously at 190.Muslim Abu Saeed is Muslim bin Saeed, as mentioned in Tarikh al-Kabir by Bukhari 4/1/262, and as in Kuna by Abu Ahmad Hakim, as quoted by Hafiz in Tajil, and he is trustworthy.The hadith appears in Majma al-Zawaid 2:232 and 9:96-98, where it is also attributed to Abu Yaala in his Kabir.
