I had a wife whom I loved, but my father disliked her and ordered me to divorce her. I refused. He then went to the Prophet ﷺ and mentioned this to him, so the Prophet sent for me and said, "Abdullah, divorce your wife." So I divorced her.
Its isnad is sahih. Abdul-Malik bin Amr is Abu Amir Aqadi, with the ain and qaf pronounced with a fatha, a designation referring to Banu Aqd, a clan belonging to Bajilah or to Qays. This Abu Amir is trustworthy and reliable, as Nasai said, and whenever Ishaq narrated from him, he would say, "Abu Amir the trustworthy, the reliable, narrated to us." The hadith is abridged, 5011.
